Seattle Harmonic Voices is an a capella vocal ensemble dedicated to expanding the possibilities of the human voice through overtone singing, a technique wideley touted as a vocalist’s ability to sing multiple tones simultaneously. For this concert they present original compositions for overtone choir by guest artist Jim Cole and ensemble founder Stephen Fandrich. In addition, members of Gamelan Pacifica will play traditional Javanese vocal music, an arrangement of In a Landscape by John Cage, and Fandrich’s Ketawang Harmonic for gamelan and three overtone singers.
