SIMF Benefit: One-Minute Solos

Somewhere between 20 and 50 Seattle-area improvisers, musicians, poets, and dancers each perform a one-minute long solo to help raise funds for the 2008 Seattle Improvised Music Festival, which happens February 8/9/10 and 15/16/17. Now in its 23rd year, this is the longest running festival of its kind in the US. This year is perhaps the most ambitious and international SIMF yet, featuring improvisers from Tokyo, Netherlands, Paris, Madrid, Zurich, New York City, Oakland, Portland, and of course Seattle.

This year is the first time in years that the festival is operating without any outside funding from individual donors or government agencies, so your support is especially important. Without your help, this year’s festival simply cannot happen. Please come and make a tax-deductible donation of any size. Give $500 or more and qualify to possibly win an original art work by renowned sound sculptor Trimpin that will go to the highest donor. Donations must be received by February 8.
