Chrysalis is a women’s vocal ensemble that studies and incorporates a wide range of traditional, experimental, and contemporary vocal practices. Tonight they present an evening of new choral works by local composers curated by Hanna Benn, with members of The Esoterics and Gamelan Pacifica: Hanna Benn, Samantha Bosch, Marit Hanson, Whitney Lyman, Erica Atnip, Carly Hodgson, Jessika Kenney, Maeg O’Donoghue Williams Sukarwanto, Holly Johnson. Opening the evening will be Moon & Tides, a duo of Gwen Bayly (saxophone) and Cynthia Dillard (piano).

Each month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded organizations and artists present ten concerts of adventurous and experimental music in the gorgeous Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center (which sits on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish people): contemporary/post-classical composition, free improvisation and the outer limits of jazz, electronic/electroacoustic music, new instruments, phonography, sound art, and other innovative musics.
