Presented by Earshot Jazz. Trumpeter Matthew Postle and keyboardist Derek Terran have looked for inspiration not just to modern American greats like Kenny Wheeler and Ron Miles, but also to European masters such as Tomasz Stanko, Arve Henriksen, and Nils-Petter Molvaer. They create striking textures of sound for the new century. Bassist Nate Omdal and drummer Mike Hams accompany the imaginative pianist Michael Owcharuk, who leads this all-originals trio which draws on elements of jazz, Ukrainian traditional and sacred music, Brazilian music, rock, gospel, and contemporary art music.
About
Each month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded organizations and artists present ten concerts of adventurous and experimental music in the gorgeous Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center (which sits on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish people): contemporary/post-classical composition, free improvisation and the outer limits of jazz, electronic/electroacoustic music, new instruments, phonography, sound art, and other innovative musics. Watch a video clip about us on the Seattle Channel.
