Guitarist Dennis Rea heads a thrilling electric string quartet + drums featuring Ruth Davidson (cello), Alicia Allen (violin), Domenico Chiaverini (bass), and Jay Jaskot (drums). The new trio Snapbite, with saxophonist Eric Barber, bassist PK, and drummer Matt Crane, is a powerhouse of improvisation underpinned by swing, extended techniques, and a ferocious rhythmic attack steeped not only in jazz but also in world music, funk, and contemporary chamber music.
Each month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded organizations and artists present ten concerts of adventurous and experimental music in the gorgeous Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center (which sits on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish people): contemporary/post-classical composition, free improvisation and the outer limits of jazz, electronic/electroacoustic music, new instruments, phonography, sound art, and other innovative musics.
