Featuring sublime to frenetic strings, ethereal voxings and hypnotic rhythms enhanced by experimental/electronic soundings and of-the-moment inspiration, EQlateral‘s dramatic soundscapes range from the sensual to the cosmic and back again. With John Ames (cello), Sebastian Lange (violin and laptop), Peter Toms (bass and ambient noise) and Susan Dumett (“vox vespertinus”), this unique ensemble of electro-classical musicians is not to be missed. Joining EQ is the incomparable video artistry of VJ Ephemeral.
Each month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded organizations and artists present ten concerts of adventurous and experimental music in the gorgeous Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center (which sits on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish people): contemporary/post-classical composition, free improvisation and the outer limits of jazz, electronic/electroacoustic music, new instruments, phonography, sound art, and other innovative musics.
