Presented by WA Composers Forum. The Montreal-based Quasar Saxophone Quartet is dedicated to premiering and promoting contemporary music that is multi-dimensionally conceived. Quasar explores different aspects of artistic creation from instrumental music to live electronics, from improvisation to instrumental theatre. The quartet brings new works by Canadian composers and Seattle composer Donald Stewart. PROGRAM: Facing Death by Louis Andriessen; TDU/Q by Giorgio Magnanensi; Du souffle by Philippe Leroux; world premiere by Donald Stewart; Brumes matinales et textures urbaines by André Hamel
Each month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded organizations and artists present ten concerts of adventurous and experimental music in the gorgeous Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center (which sits on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish people): contemporary/post-classical composition, free improvisation and the outer limits of jazz, electronic/electroacoustic music, new instruments, phonography, sound art, and other innovative musics. Watch a video clip about us on the Seattle Channel.
