Presented by Seattle Chamber Players, in partnership with the Polish Cultural Institute New York. SCP and the extraordinary Polish vocalist Agata Zubel perform Luciano Berio’s Sequenza, the US premiere of the flute/voice version of Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho’s Changing Light, and Estonian composer Helena Tulve’s Island for clarinet and violin, as well as Agata Zubel’s own Parlando and her dynamic and ethereal vocal tour-de-force, Cascando.
Each month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded organizations and artists present ten concerts of adventurous and experimental music in the gorgeous Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center (which sits on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish people): contemporary/post-classical composition, free improvisation and the outer limits of jazz, electronic/electroacoustic music, new instruments, phonography, sound art, and other innovative musics.
