The Seattle Percussion Collective will present an evening of chamber music written for percussion, including the following works: In Memoriam…Esteban Gomez by Robert Ashley, Beaten Paths by Milton Babbitt, Letters from the Earth by Sarah Bassingthwaighte (World Premiere), Transition by Nat Evans (World Premiere), Music for Magnets by Paul Kikuchi (World Premiere), Canon #5 by Larry Polansky, I Riti: Ritual March by Giacinto Scelsi, and Bicoastal by Roger Zahab.
Each month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded organizations and artists present ten concerts of adventurous and experimental music in the gorgeous Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center (which sits on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish people): contemporary/post-classical composition, free improvisation and the outer limits of jazz, electronic/electroacoustic music, new instruments, phonography, sound art, and other innovative musics.
