Presented by Nonsequitur. Wayne Horvitz draws from the large body of audio samples recorded at Ft. Worden in Port Townsend for 55 – Music and Dance in Concrete to create a live performance score that uses that material as its foundation. Writing for the phenomenal pianist Cristina Valdes and Trio Parladote, Horvitz has generated a suite of sonically rich and deeply textured compositions.
Each month, Nonsequitur and a community of like-minded organizations and artists present ten concerts of adventurous and experimental music in the gorgeous Chapel Performance Space at the Good Shepherd Center (which sits on the traditional homelands of the Duwamish people): contemporary/post-classical composition, free improvisation and the outer limits of jazz, electronic/electroacoustic music, new instruments, phonography, sound art, and other innovative musics.
