Doors open 7 PM.
Morgan O. celebrates the release of her new album “Now Time” and performs songs from the album. The songs were written for a theater show entitled The Unicorn Crosses the Stream by Emmy Smith Stewart and Jeffrey Azevedo. The show explores grief for queer elders lost during the AIDS epidemic, the effects of an accidental estradiol overdose, and the relevance of a 14th century tapestry to queer and trans struggles for autonomy and survival.
She is joined by Asa Nakagawa and Precious Bane.
The show is a benefit for Puget Sound Prisoner Support (PSPS). PSPS is a small anarchist collective providing support for leftists, anarchists, and radicals facing repression for participation in political organizing, demonstrations and protests in the Pacific Northwest since 2015.
Morgan O is a saxophonist and improviser from Seattle. She weaves electronic textures, drones, and field recordings with saxophone melodies and breath.
Asa Nakagawa is an intuitive player and self-taught experimental, ambient, electronic musician with a penchant for fm synthesis and field recording.
Precious Bane (Olympia, WA) is the mournful drone folk project of NDKG from Ragana.
